Studio Sound, on Location
A boutique mic preamp that fits in the palm of your hand? Yes, please!
Jasmine technology was originally developed for our award-winning products, such as MicPort Pro and MixerFace. But we didn’t stop there. We improved the preamp further to give you 74 dB of clean gain and lowest noise (-130 dBu (A) EIN). This kind of performance rivals much more expensive, rack-mount studio equipment. Yet Jasmine preamp is not only studio-grade, but also portable! It has more than enough gain for the SM7, RE-20 and other dynamic mics, which have become favorites of podcasters everywhere. Our products are all about miniaturizing studio gear, so you can sound great anywhere.
Use any condenser, ribbon or dynamic mic. Add limiter to prevent clipping. Use the built-in mixer to practice along with a music track. Discover how time-proven analog technology can deliver sound quality and ease of use, in the studio or on the road. Jasmine is portable, sounds musical, and doesn’t become obsolete. Analog technology delivers immediate adjustments, instant monitoring over headphones and a long life span with no need for upgrades.
Jasmine features warm analog precision and is powered from USB-C. This sets it apart from other gear and liberates it from the wall plug. Use any USB charger or Power Bank and you will never run out of juice. This gives you ultimate convenience, whether you record in the field, or in your home studio. Jasmine Preamp is part of our English Channel Series. Sound like a million bucks. Have some tea with biscuit.
Jasmine is a unique combination of Mic/Instrument Preamp, Mixer, and Headphone Monitor. It has a combo XLR input, male XLR output, 3.5 mm line input, 3.5 mm line output, and a powerful headphone output with a 3.5 mm jack. Handheld and easy to use, it’s great for jamming, streaming, gigging, blogging, location recording, ENG and other mobile audio uses.

MIXERFACE R4R FAQ
1) Q: What capacity SD card can be used with MixerFace R4R?
A: We have tested micro SD cards with up to 256GB capacity with no issues.
Tip: Format the card using the R4R formatting procedure to ensure most reliable results.
2) Q: How do I speed up file transfer from SD card to the computer?
A: For fastest transfer speeds, insert SD card into your computer and perform copy operation.
3) Q: Pressing Record button results in flashing orange LED. What is wrong with my SD card?
A: Use R4R formatting procedure to properly format the card for operation with R4R.
4) Q: Can I use a power bank to charge MixerFace? If so, what would be the requirements of this power bank?
A: Yes. You can use any power bank with USB output — size is not important as long as it’s above, 5000 mAh. Most power banks are above 10,000 these days.
5) Q: My MixerFace isn’t charging! OR My MixerFace is not recognized by my USB device!
A: Check that you are connecting MixerFace via the correct USB port. There are two USB ports on MixerFace. One for charging (lightning bolt symbol) and one for USB audio connection (the USB symbol).
6) Q: Can you record to a USB device and the built-in SD card recorder in the R4R model?
A: Yes. MixerFace R4R offers the ability to record to both places at once for safety and redundancy.
7) Q: Can the sample rate of the built-in SD card recorder be changed?
A: Recordings made to the SD card recorder are fixed at 24bit/48kHz. Recorder produces Stereo WAV Files.
8) Q: What sample rates does MixerFace support via USB?
A: Supported sample rates are: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz & 192 kHz.
9) Q: What is the SIM tool for?
A: The SIM card extractor tool included with your MixerFace is for accessing the recessed switches on your unit. Use it to turn on 48V phantom power, or activate the high pass filter, as examples. Switches are recessed to avoid accidental bumping.
10) Q: Does MixerFace have an app?
A: MixerFace doesn’t need an app. It’s simple to use and can be operated entirely from its front panel. Use it with any app you want.
Examples of 3-rd party recording apps include: Audio Evolution (iOS/Android), Auria Pro (iOS), Garageband (iOS), Field Recorder (Android) and Twisted Wave (iOS).
11) Q: Will MixerFace work with Android device?
A: Most Android devices 3 years old or newer should work fine. The phone must support USB audio (not just charging). USB C ports usually mean that the phone is newer. We recommend flagship phone models that support external USB audio devices. The following site has a good list of phones known to support USB audio devices:
http://www.extreamsd.com/index.php/technology/usb-audio-driver (scroll down to “Supported Android devices”)
12) Q: Does MixerFace take power from the connected Android phone?
A: MixerFace (R4, R4R, R4B) has a built-in battery, so it draws zero power from the phone. MixerFace R4S uses wall power from a standard 5V USB adapter. It also doesn’t draw any power from the phone.
13) Q: May I leave MixerFace permanently plugged in to the charger?
A: Yes. MixerFace can be permanently plugged in to a USB charger, or a computer’s USB port. MixerFace will top off the internal battery every once in a while, but otherwise will consume very little power when turned OFF.
14) Q: With Windows 7 and 10, Playback works recording doesn’t work. OR: My app does not work with MixerFace.
A: Recording and Playback sample rates must match. Open Windows Sound Control Panel. In the Advanced settings, set format to 24-bit with your desired sample rate for playback settings and select identical values for recording settings.
15) Q: To hear myself clearly on playback I have to turn the monitor all the way to the max.
A: See the knob labelled CH <-> USB in the middle of the channel strip. Turn that knob counter-clockwise to get more microphone in the headphones. That is the “blend” control knob and it lets you adjust the mix between your voice and the sound coming from the computer. If you turn it CCW you will hear more of the mic signal in the headphones. If you turn it CW you will hear more USB return signal. Return signal is useful when you are narrating over a music bed, listening to a producer cue on a remote broadcast, etc. Also, turn the blend knob to the USB side when you want to hear playback of something you just recorded.
