Unicolor, hmm I never really heard of that store when I was there. Maybe it was Uniqlo that she meant:

Consumer electronics are indeed cheapest in the States. Here, in Taiwan, where so much of the world's electronics are produced, even local brands such as Asus and Acer are nearly 30% more expensive than in the States, even though the average salary is barely more than half.

Not only that, but these brands sell their new computers in the States first, and keep selling outdated models in their home country for many months after they've been discontinued in the Land of the Free (or, of the Inexpensive, at least). The same model here can also have less RAM and a smaller hard drive than in the States, and sometimes even an inferior processor. And to top it all, the sales are a joke compared to the real bargains often offered in the States, notably during the holiday season.

So, enjoy your luck.

And your ice cream.
